Amazon Great India Sale to begin on 8 August with early access for Prime members

Amazon India will be holding its 'Great India Sale' from 8 to 10 August. It will be selling products from various categories such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other non-tech categories such as apparel, furniture, books and so on at discounted rates.The sale will be available on the web as well as the Amazon app. Recently, Amazon announced the start of its Prime service in India. Members of the Amazon Prime service will get a 30-min early access to all the deals that will be part of the Amazon 'Great India Sale'.Amazon Prime membership is free as of now for 60-days, post which it will be Rs 499 per year and later be bumped up to Rs 999 per year. The Amazon Prime membership gives you access to unlimited, free 1-day and 2-day deliveries on select Amazon products.Amazon had coincided its 'Great Indian Festive Sale' last year at the same time as its arch-rival Flipkart had its Big Billion Day sale. There was a 'Great Indian Sale' earlier this year as well which was held from 21 to 23 January.Amazon hasn't revealed much about the sale apart from the dates. It looks more like a test case for Amazon's Prime subscribers to try out the service.
