Microsoft expected to showcase new PC and cloud AI tools at Build 2026: Here's how to watch Live
Microsoft Build 2026 is expected to spotlight new AI tools, Windows enhancements, custom AI models, and NVIDIA-powered PCs aimed at developers

Microsoft is all set for its developer conference on Tuesday, where it is expected to showcase new tools for developers building AI software for PCs and the cloud. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is expected to outline the technologies the company plans to bring to market as it competes with rivals such as OpenAI.
The laptops expected to be unveiled today are likely to feature tools such as OpenClaw, an open-source software project that can direct groups of AI agents to carry out everyday tasks for users. Analysts expect Microsoft to focus on making such agentic AI tools safer for businesses and the more than one billion users of its Windows operating system.
Analysts also expect more details on how Microsoft will allow developers to tap into a new chip from NVIDIA that was unveiled on Monday. These chips are expected to power laptops priced to compete with Apple's premium offerings. The prospect of such machines has already helped boost the shares of Microsoft and major PC makers such as Dell Technologies.
Beyond hardware, Microsoft is also expected to provide updates on its own AI models, which it hopes will help it compete in areas such as code generation against tools like OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code.

While Build has traditionally been more developer-focused than events such as Apple's WWDC and Google's I/O, reports suggest that Microsoft is planning to announce new AI models and additional improvements to the Windows 11 platform.
