Rise of Iron expansion pack for Destiny is live now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4

As soon as the Rise of Iron update for Destiny landed, users had problems signing in and increasing traffic meant a sign in queue was implemented.

Bungie just launched the Rise of Iron expansion pack for Destiny. This is a massive new update, with a cinematic campaign set in The Plaguelands, new weapons, new raids, new enemies, and new bosses. Those who pre-ordered the expansion can complete a quest to get the Iron Gjallarhorn, an exclusive rocket launcher. The Rise of Iron campaign has a minimum level requirement of 40. The expansion brings private matches to players. There is a new supremacy quest available from Lord Shaxx. There is a now a six player raid.destiny-iron-lords-1The story involves the last remaining Iron Lord. The Iron Lords were once numerous, and were safeguarding humanity and rebuilding a long lost civilisation. The sacrificed everything to lock up a disruptive and forbidden technology called Siva. Now Devil Splicers, inhuman cyborgs who meld flesh and machine, have unearthed Siva. The last remaining Iron Lord, Lord Saladin, now calls out to Guardians to make a stand where the Iron Lords fell.https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/778191947680870400While the update landed on Xbox One and Playstation 4, the update process has not exactly been smooth for players. Bungie moved into damage control mode as soon as the update was launched. There were issues that were preventing users from singing in, on both platforms. A sudden spurt in traffic was handled by implementing a sign in queue, so players had to wait a while before they could start. Bungie reported that some issues with users sign in were identified, but revealed no specifics.
