Overwatch is a new IP from legendary developers, Blizzard Entertainment. We will not be exaggerating when we say that fans have been waiting for the game with anticipation bordering on the rabid.
Scramble to yer PCs ye lads and lassies for the Overwatch Open beta is now live, but only for a limited time. The beta will only run from May 5 to May 9 so you don’t have much time. Hurry, for users are reporting that servers are already crammed. The game is a team-based multiplayer shooter that tasks opposing teams with some objective and pits them against each other. If you’re aware of Overwatch, you’re aware of DOTA 2 and Team Fortress 2 and Blizzard’s Overwatch is a melding of the two games (think SMITE, but done way better).The story is...interesting, in a very Blizzard way. Humans and Omnics (a form of robot) exist in peace. Omniums, factories that produce Omnics, go rogue and start building militarised Omnics. The Overwatch is established and comprises of the world’s elite soldiers. Their task? Eliminate rogue Omniums. They succeed, mostly, but years of corruption and greedy corporations bring the world to the brink of ruin anyway. Only heroes can save the world now and that’s where you come in.Being a game from Blizzard, one can expect mechanics to be on-point. One can also expect colourful, over-the-top characters, weird and wonderful weapons and more than a little sexism.![Overwatch Beta]()
To install the game, create a Battle.net account (if you don’t already have one) and download and install the Battle.net app. Once installed, login to the service and install the game to start playing. If you already have Battle.net installed, you’ll be able to see the game in your games list.
