E3 2016: Bethesda just announced Skyrim remaster, time to schedule a vacation

Fans have been waiting for the new version of the game for at least two years, and Bethesda has been working on a revamped version of Skyrim.

The special edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was announced at E3 2016 by Bethesda. Fans have been waiting for the reworked version of the game for at least two years, and Bethesda has been working on the title. Disappointingly, there was no announcement of a remastered Skyrim in the 2015 E3, but this year, it is finally here. Jump to 3:06 to get at the Skyrim.
A series of tweets gave away more details. There are reworked graphics for the newer consoles. There is also a feature for dynamic change in depth of view, which allows for a more natural shift in focus as objects get nearer. There are volumetric god rays, and new shaders for snow and water. The Skyrim Special edition will be released on 28 October. The Elder Scrolls series of games are known for how easy it is to mod them, and the vast library of user created content. Those who own the Legendary edition of the game, will get the remastered edition for free. The offer is also available to those who own the base game, as well as all the downloadable content released for the game. This includes the Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn add-ons.
