Apple WWDC 2026 Roundup: Everything expected at the June 8 event
Apple's upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 updates are expected to introduce a smarter AI-powered Siri, foldable iPhone optimizations, new app features, Liquid Glass refinements, and major performance improvements

Apple is expected to unveil iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 at WWDC. The company is also reportedly planning to debut a significantly upgraded version of Siri as part of its next-generation software lineup.
The upcoming software updates are expected to include the following features:
Smarter Siri With Chatbot Capabilities
Apple is expected to introduce a major update for Siri that will enhance its capabilities through improved personal context awareness, on-screen understanding, and deeper integration across apps. The upgraded Siri is expected to be able to see what's on screen, understand user context more effectively, and perform more actions both within and between applications.
A new chatbot-powered version of Siri is also rumored to be in development, allowing the voice assistant to function more like ChatGPT or Claude. As Apple is reportedly undertaking a ground-up overhaul of Siri, the assistant could receive a redesigned interface and may even launch as a standalone app for the first time.
iPhone Fold Optimizations
The iPhone Fold is expected to feature an entirely new form factor, with support for side-by-side app multitasking and redesigned sidebar interfaces. Apple is likely to keep these iOS 27 enhancements under wraps until the foldable device is officially unveiled in September.
New App Features
iOS 27 is expected to introduce several AI-powered features across Apple's apps. These may include a dedicated Siri-powered Visual Intelligence section within the Camera app, AI-based editing tools in the Photos app, and the ability to scan physical passes and convert them into digital versions within the Wallet app.
Liquid Glass Enhancements
Apple could further refine and expand its Liquid Glass design language in iOS 27, building on the visual changes introduced in previous releases.
Performance and Stability
iOS 27 may serve as a "Snow Leopard"-style update, placing a stronger emphasis on performance, stability, and overall system quality. Apple is reportedly streamlining iOS by cleaning up legacy code and removing outdated components, which could result in improved responsiveness, greater efficiency, and reduced battery consumption.
Last year at WWDC, Apple unveiled its Liquid Glass design language, live translation features, and several other software enhancements. The event also introduced macOS Tahoe with a refreshed Liquid Glass-inspired design, alongside new updates for watchOS and Apple's broader software ecosystem.
