After LinkedIn, eHarmony, Last.fm also hacked

Its turning out to be bad weak for Internet security all around. Popular British music and radio site, Last.fm is now facing password theft like LinkedIn and eHarmony. Last.fm posted on its blog;We are currently investigating the leak of some Last.fm user passwords. This follows recent password leaks on other sites, as well as information posted online. As a precautionary measure, we’re asking all our users to change their passwords immediately.Please log in to Last.fm and change your password on the settings page If you can’t remember your password you can reset it without logging inWe will never email you a direct link to update your settings or ask for your password.Yesterday news broke that nearly 6.5 million LinkedIn passwords were stolen and distributed online. The password were stolen by a Russian hacker who posted them online (without usernames). eHarmony, a popular US dating site also reported that nearly 1 mn user passwords had been compromised.[caption id="attachment_336774" align="alignleft" width="380" caption="Screengrab of Last.fm"][/caption]Meanwhile in light of recent data hacking, Facebook has updated security measures for users on its mobile.In a post today, the social networking site said that Android users can now get a code generator in order to approval logins for the app.Now, using Code Generator, users will be able to receive Login Approval codes through your Facebook Application, without waiting on an SMS, and it will work regardless of whether you have cellular or Internet access.Android users can go to http://on.fb.me/LoginApprovals and to set up a Code Generator. After that they can user the Code Generator within the Facebook for Android app to receive the security code needed to complete a login from a new device. The code will refresh every 30 seconds.
