Vocal pro-Tamil leader Pazha Nedumaran observed the anniversary of Prabhakaran, whose outfit is banned in the country, by planting a sapling at Thanjavur.Other pro-Tamil leaders like Kolathur Mani have issued greetings messages on the occasion. Police said several workers of MDMK were detained in Namakkal and Tirupur when they tried to celebrate the birthday in important road junctions of the town without permission.Prabhakaran was killed by the Sri Lankan armed forces in 2009, ending decades of civil war in the island nation.PTI
