Price rise because of UPA's wrong economic policies: Rajnath Singh

Bahraich (UP): BJP president Rajnath Singh today blamed the UPA government's economic policy, poor planning and corruption for the spiralling prices of essential commodities."Ever since the Manmohan Singh government came to power prices have been rising, but during the NDA government between 1998 and 2004 despite economic sanctions they had remained in check," Singh said addressing a rally, also attended by BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, here.[caption id="attachment_1219493" align="alignleft" width="380"] Rajnath Singh. Reuters[/caption]Blaming the UPA government for the price rise, he said, "...all this is because of the wrong economic policies, programmes and corruption."The BJP chief lashed out at the Prime Minister, saying he is "begging before other countries although the country has the potential to emerge as the richest nation within ten years".Praising BJP-ruled states, he said the work of these governments is getting world-wide praise and hailed Narendra Modi for turning Gujarat into a model state.Flaying the Congress for using the "divide and rule" policy of the British, he said the party believes that the history of one family is the history of the country and it considers other great personalities as secondary.Attacking BSP and Samajwadi Party, Singh said they are helping the UPA government at the Centre to survive.PTI
