New Delhi: Tangled in the legal dispute after constant denials, Congress leader ND Tiwari accepted Rohit Shekhar as his son today.CNN-IBN reported that the veteran leader invited Shekhar to his residence and accepted Shekhar as his son, something Tiwari has denied despite paternity tests proving it to be true. This is the first time Tiwari has publicly acknowledged his 34-year-old son mother Ujjwala Sharma, reported NDTV.Tiwari reportedly invited Shekhar to his residence and told him that he was tired of fighting -- which has dragged on since 2008 when Shekhar filed the paternity suit.Earlier, the Delhi High Court had dismissed a plea by Tiwari seeking mediation in the suit.  Tiwari had moved an application saying he wants to explore the possibility of "amicable settlement" through mediation in the interest of justice.At the time Tiwari had been refuting the claims made by Shekhar. The Delhi High Court Friday dismissed a plea by veteran Congress leader N.D. Tiwari seeking mediation in a paternity suit filed by a man for Tiwari to be declared his biological father. Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw dismissed Tiwari's plea after 32-year-old Rohit Shekhar, who claims that the 90-year-old Tiwari is his biological father, and his mother Ujjwala Sharma refused to mediate saying they would contest the case. Taking note of the contentions, the court fixed the case for final hearing April 21. Tiwari, who has been fighting the legal battle from 2008, had moved an application saying he wants to explore the possibility of "amicable settlement" through mediation in the interest of justice. On Feb 20, the local commissioner appointed by the court to record evidence, had closed the right to lead the evidence of Tiwari after he failed to appear for cross-examination despite his last opportunity. Tiwari has been refuting the claim of Shekhar.
