Vijayawada court extends TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's judicial remand by two days

An Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada on Friday extended former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's judicial remand by two days.The police produced Naidu in court virtually as the previously imposed remand ended today.Naidu, who had been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days for the alleged misappropriation of funds from the Skill Development Corporation leading to a loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state government, had filed an interim bail petition as well as one seeking regular bail.Speaking from Rajahmundry Central Jail, Naidu said that he was arrested for political revenge and he was being accused of things he never did and dubbed his arrest unfair.The ACB court judge said he was just facing charges and has not been pronounced guilty. He could prove his innocence by counter arguments and disprove the charges, the judge added.Naidu was arrested on 10 September.With inputs from agencies
