Uttar Pradesh: BJP legislator’s son, supporters beat up toll plaza staff in Mathura

The son of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Uttar Pradesh MLA Pooran Prakash and his supporters allegedly thrashed an employee of the Mathura Mahuvan toll plaza, according to several media reports.The incident, which was captured on CCTV, purportedly showed MLA Pooran Prakash's car passing through the toll plaza when a boom barrier fell on its roof. Following the incident, Prakash's  son and supporters emerged from the car and reportedly thrashed a staffer.The MLA from Baldev was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times as, "About 11 am, I was moving from Mahuwan toll plaza on Agra-Delhi highway. The escort car passed and my car followed it but all of sudden the boom fell dangerously on my car while moving ahead".Prakash also alleged that the barrier was dropped purposely, the report added."My security vehicles went before us but still they dropped that stick on our car, despite seeing the big writings of 'vidhayak' on it. This is nothing new, they often do such things," Prakash told Zee News.According to The Statesman, no FIR has been filed even as the toll management registered a complaint.
