Sibal skips IIT meet to prove there's no govt interference

New Delhi: Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal today skipped the meeting of IIT Council convened by him to discuss the proposed common entrance test after opposition from some of the premier engineering institutions.[caption id="attachment_359214" align="alignleft" width="380" caption="Reuters"][/caption]PTI reported that Sibal was not present as he wanted to show that the IITs are autonomous and there is no government interference.Sibal, who is also the IIT Council Chairperson, instead sent a written statement to Council.
