People's aid in cleanliness drive important, govt can't do everything: Amit Shah

The awardees included cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and veteran actress Helen."Be it cleanliness of the Ganga, the Himalayas or cleanliness in your own backyard, people have to play an important role," he said.The BJP president also appealed for help from people and organisations for flood relief work in Jammu and Kashmir.On the Modi-led government's performance so far, Shah said, "The government is doing a good job."The other awardees honoured tonight included Urvi Piramal (business and industry); Hemant Thacker(medicine); Kulinkant Luthia (social service); Babulbhai Shah (journalism) and Anu Malik (films).PTI
