One soldier killed, another injured as avalanche hits army post in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district

"It buried two soldiers, following which a rescue operation was launched immediately," the police said."One jawan died on the spot and another was shifted to hospital," the police added.The deceased has been identified as Lance Naik Sapan Mehra of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, while Sepoy Harpreet Singh, who hailed from Punjab was taken to a nearby army health facility for treatment, reported Hindustan Times.Further details of the incident are awaited.With inputs from PTI
