Junior doctor of Chandigarh's PGIMER commits suicide by hanging self in hostel room; probe underway

A junior resident doctor of the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has committed suicide, police said on Monday.

Chandigarh: A junior resident doctor of the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has committed suicide, police said on Monday.[caption id="attachment_4238737" align="alignleft" width="380"]Representational image. News18

News18[/caption]The young doctor, Krishna Prasath R (24) was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room on the institute campus.Prasath, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, was a junior resident in the PGIMER's Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging.Inspector Lakhbir Singh of the Sector 11 police station said that the reason for taking the extreme step is still not known.A case has been registered over the incident and investigations are going on, he added.
