A 10-month-old boy died while his mother is battling for life after they were allegedly set afire by her husband when she objected to his extramarital affair.

Barabanki, UP: A 10-month-old boy died while his mother is battling for life after they were allegedly set afire by her husband when she objected to his extramarital affair.The shocking incident occurred yesterday in Rampur village here. The woman, Rinku, had a heated argument with her husband Pinku Yadav over his "affair", police said today. Yadav, in a fit of rage, sprinkled kerosene on her and their child and set both of them ablaze, police alleged.While the infant died on the spot, the woman received serious burns and was admitted to a nearby hospital, police added. The mother and brother of the accused were also injured as they tried to save the victims and were hospitalised, police said.Police said a case has been registered and they were taking action against the accused.PTI
