Honor View 20 could be launched as the Nova 4 in China with a 48 MP camera on 26 Dec

Huawei has been teasing the launch of its pin-hole in-display selfie camera sporting Nova 4 smartphone for a while now. Image: CNMO[/caption]An event invite received by Chinese publication CNMO reveals that the successor to last year's Nova 3 will be unveiled a day after Christmas and it will feature a 48 MP camera. Images of the invite in Chinese, deciphered by GizmoChina in a report reveals that Honor is calling this the first smartphone to feature a 48 MP rear camera.[caption id="attachment_5703431" align="alignnone" width="1280"] Honor View 20. The reason why this bit of information comes handy as Huawei launched the Honor View 10 last year as the Honor V10 in China and they are expected to do the same with the View 20 as well.What remains to be a confusion though is whether the new Honor View 20 announced in Hong Kong is the same smartphone that we've been referring to as the Nova 4. Considering a lot of the leaked specifications do match, they are very likely to be the same phone. But you never know with Honor.From what we know so far, the View 20 will have an in-display hole for the front camera, which will have a diameter of 4.5 mm. The display is being called the "All-View display by Honor" and it is quite similar to the Infinity O display by Samsung. Honor is calling this a more intelligent implementation than the notched displays that were seen this year.The View 20 rear camera will also be sporting the new 48 MP Sony IMX 586 sensor, a setup teased on the invite of the Nova 4.The Honor View 20 will likely make its way into Indian markets following the global launch of the phone in January. Pricing details are yet to be known.
