Gurugram man arrested 15 months after raping seven-year-old girl, charged under POSCO Act

Gurugram: A 28-year-old man who allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl, and left her to die near a slum in Gurugram, has been arrested 15 months later.[caption id="attachment_3791603" align="alignleft" width="380"]Representational image. Reuters

Representational image. Reuters[/caption]The girl was victimized in May 2016 and left in the bushes after being hit on the head. Unknown to the attacker, the girl survived."The survivor was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and recovered after a long time after undergoing multiple surgeries," a senior police officer told IANS.Police said the accused, Amrish Dubey, has been arrested under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act."The accused was arrested after massive efforts and scanning of CCTV footage installed on a building near the crime spot."Dubey belonged to Damon district in Madhya Pradesh. Police said he worked at a rest house of a private company in Gurugram.
