Four-year-old raped in Uttar Pradesh: Case filed against absconding accused, say cops

Muzaffarnagar: A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in a village in Shamli district, police said on Friday. Nitin (24) took her to a field in Kheri Furkan village on Thursday evening and raped her, they said.Following a complaint by the victim's family, a case was registered under section 376 of the IPC (punishment for rape) and POCSO act.Police said the girl has been sent for medical examination while the accused is absconding. Meanwhile, in another incident, a 50-year-old married woman was strangulated to death by unidentified persons in Shamli district.[caption id="attachment_2692176" align="alignleft" width="380"] Representational image. AFP[/caption]The victim had gone to a field in Bharsi village last evening but did not return home, police said, adding that her body was later recovered from the site.Police said the body has been sent for post-mortem.
