'Dead' CRPF official's video in Bihar sparks inquiry

(Updated with information that person in video wasn't deceased official)A video of a Central Reserve Police Force official appealing for help after being injured in a landmine blast in Bihar's Aurangabad district has prompted an official inquiry into if he didn't receive medical assistance in time.Deputy Commandant Indrajeet was injured in the blast and was taken to Ranchi's Apollo Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Two constables, Pawan Dahia and T Punnarao, who were part of the team that attempted to defuse the explosive device, were killed in the explosion.While it was initially claimed that a video was recorded of Indrajeet while being taken to hospital, it later turned out to be another jawan who was injured in the attack.[caption id="attachment_1470533" align="alignleft" width="380"] The video of the injured CRPF official. I appeal to the PM, President of India to please save me. I am appealing to my DGP please help me out and save my life," the jawan, who was later identified as Dilip, is seen saying.Dilip was among the six persons injured in the attack.  Two were critically injured and six other injured were sent to other hospitals for treatment."Support couldn't reach in time to our Deputy Commandant Inderjeet and that is a matter of inquiry," Dilip Trivedi, DG of the CRPF, told CNN-IBN.He said that a senior official would conduct the probe and refused to comment until it was completed.Another senior official said that the video wouldn't affect the morale of officers and the training needs of personnel would need to be looked into.
