CPI's Gurudas Dasgupta for a political person for Prez post
Refusing to give any names, CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta said the President should be a person who has served the nation as a political activist and has the goodwill, sincerity and confidence.

New Delhi: CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta today made a strong pitch for a political person for the post of the President."The person should definitely a political person, with high integrity, with high moral character and he should really be a representative of the common people. A non-political person cannot do it," Dasgupta said when asked about his views on Presidential candidate.[caption id="attachment_297354" align="alignleft" width="380" caption="Courtesy : Lok Sabha TV"]

People are definitely losing confidence in Parliament and parliamentary system because we are not being able to reflect the problems of the masses," he said."There is a decline...In such a situation whoever comes as the President must be capable of enjoying the confidence of the people. And confidence can only come if the man is known for his committment, integrity, honesty and love for the country. Not for himself," Dasgupta said.PTI
