Army troops recover powerful IED in Manipur
The security personnel detected the bomb at Keinou area, about 30 km south of Imphal, yesterday and immediately informed the bomb disposal team at Imphal who rushed to the spot and exploded it, the police said.

Imphal: A powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing 4 kg was recovered from the side of a road by a road opening party of 2/5 Gorkha Rifles (GR) in Manipur's Bishenpur district, the police said today.The security personnel detected the bomb at Keinou area, about 30 km south of Imphal, yesterday and immediately informed the bomb disposal team at Imphal who rushed to the spot and exploded it, the police said.[caption id="attachment_1820985" align="alignleft" width="380"]

PTI[/caption] On Sunday night, two powerful IEDs were recoverd from Gelmol area in Moirang police station, a few kilometres from Keinou area on the south of it, at a roadside by another road opening party of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry personnel, sources said.They said unidentified militants had planted the IEDs in an attempt to attack the security personnel. Sources said security measures were tightened at different parts of the state in view of 50th foundation day of major insurgent organisation, United National Liberation Front (UNLF) on 24 November.
