Kingfisher Strong wins Asia's best strong beer award

United Breweries Limited on Thursday said its beer brand Kingfisher Strong has been recognised as 'Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer' at the prestigious World Beer Awards- 2013 held in UK recently.

Bangalore: United Breweries Limited on Thursday said its beer brand Kingfisher Strong has been recognised as 'Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer' at the prestigious World Beer Awards- 2013 held in UK recently.

Kingfisher Strong, India's largest selling beer brand from the house of United Breweries Limited, was conferred a Gold medal at the prestigious World Beer Awards -2013, the city-based company said in a release here.

At a ceremony held in UK, Kingfisher Strong was recognised as 'Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer', it said, adding the variety was unanimously chosen as the best by a panel of judges from Asia, Europe and America under Roger Protz - International Chairman, World Beer Awards.

United Breweries said: "Kingfisher Strong enjoys close to 40 percent market share in the Indian sub-continent and has also been one of the fastest growing beer brands in the strong beer category in India."
