Sanjay Dutt to replace Aamir Khan in Saare Jahan Se Achha, astronaut Rakesh Sharma's biopic?
Siddharth Roy Kapur has reportedly approached Sanjay Dutt for Rakesh Sharma's biopic after Aamir Khan chose to opt out of the space adventure film.

It was earlier reported that Aamir Khan has been roped in by Siddharth Roy Kapur to star in Saare Jahan Se Achha, the biopic of astronaut Rakesh Sharma, who was the first Indian to visit space.[caption id="attachment_3145524" align="alignleft" width="380"]

While the reason for the same is not known, Aamir is currently occupied with shooting for Vijay Kishna Acharya's period drama Thugs of Hindostan in Malta along with Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The same actor confirms that Siddharth has now approached Sanjay Dutt to essay the role of Sharma in the space adventure film. While Dutt has not responded in affirmative yet, it would be interesting to see an actor, whose life is already being documented in a biopic, to star in a biopic as well. However, this will not be the first space adventure film that India will produce. Sushant Singh Rajput, R Madhavan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are already preparing for their roles of astronauts in Chanda Mama Door Ke which, unlike Sare Jahan Se Achha is a work of fiction, directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan.A biopic on late Kalpana Chawla is also in the pipeline, reportedly starring Priyanka Chopra in the lead role.
