Persistent Systems appoints former IBM exec Siddhartha Chatterjee as CTO

Persistent Systems  has appointed Siddhartha (Sid) Chatterjee as chief technology officer. Chatterjee is based in the U.S. Anand Deshpande, CEO of Persistent Systems, said, “Technology is what has always set Persistent Systems apart. During his 13-year career at IBM, he held multiple technical, strategic, managerial and executive positions across IBM Research, IBM Systems & Technology Group and IBM Global Technology Services.  Prior to that, he was an assistant and associate professor of computer science at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill from 1994 through 2001, and a postdoctoral scientist at the Research Institute for Advanced Computer Science (RIACS) at Moffett Field, California from 1991 through 1994.Chatterjee received his undergraduate degree in electronics and electrical communications engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1985 and his Ph.D in computer science in 1991 from Carnegie Mellon University.
