Mallya meets aviation secy, hopes all hurdles will be crossed

Vijay Mallya today met aviation secretary K N Srvastava and briefed him of a plan to revive and restart the grounded Kingfisher Airlines, CNBC TV18 reported today.

Mallya has said that he will submit a comprehensive plan to the government.

"All hurdles will be crossed," he was quoted as saying in the report.

The aviation regulator Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) was reported as saying that Kingfisher Airlines will source funding from its own resources to get the grounded carrier flying.

Its staff had ended a nearly four-week long agitation last week after the management agreed to pay salary dues.

The regulator, which suspended its flying licence, had asked the debt-ridden airline to prepare and submit its winter schedule.

Company executives or the regulator, however, have not given any time-frame for this yet.

CEO Sanjay Aggarwal had informed the DGCA last week that the source of funding for the airline will be through its own resources.

The airline's patch up with its staff last week had raised question as to how the company will find Rs 80 crore required to pay off the salary dues.

An employee had told Firspost earlier that the olive branch extended by the management was more to pander to Mallya's ego rather than to resolve the crisis.

He said Mallya perhaps wanted no hassle or protests by employees during the F1 Grand Prix at Greater Noida, which he attended.
