YOU Telecom Appoints Kishore Velankar As HR Head

Citigroup-owned cable broadband major and triple play service provider YOU Telecom has roped in Kishore Velankar, a veteran of over 21 years in HR domain to head its corporate HR.

Velankar’s earlier stints include managing HR at Tata Infotech, Mahindra British Telecom and Datacraft India. Prior to joining YOU Telecom, Velankar was global senior vice president - Human Capital Management with Integreon Managed Solutions, a KPO and LPO firm.

As the national HR head, Velankar will be responsible for managing HR, employee training and administrative functions. He will handle a team of over 15 HR professionals and will be reporting to YOU Telecom CEO E V S Chakravarthy.

For YOU Telecom, further strengthening the HR set-up is a priority to support its business expansion and growth plans. YOU currently offers its digital TV, high-speed data and VoIP services across 12 cities, however, it has plans to expand its services to 14 more cities in the next 18 months, eventually leading to increase in employee strength.
