MEAI Opts For Oracle Applications

Mitsubishi Electric Automotive India (MEAI), has selected Oracle E-Business Suite 11i (Oracle Applications). Oracle Applications is expected to help the company achieve better and more informed decision making, as well as online and real-time accounting through close integration with the existing production control systems at MEAI's parent company in Japan.

MEAI will use Oracle Applications for original equipment parts ordering, financial accounting, generating real-time reports and analysis, and managing quarter-end and year-end accounting processes.

"Oracle ERP will help us take better and more informed decisions and improve our business operations efficiency with cost reduction, " said Shigeru Matumoto, managing director, MEAI. "'Kaizen' and 'Muda' concepts can be enforced more efficiently as a result of the Oracle Applications implementation at MEAI."

"Oracle E-Business Suite 11i met the requirements of MEAI perfectly. Moreover, Oracle Applications allows us to better integrate our processes," Matumoto added.

MEAI chose Oracle Applications as the company's existing production control system is based on Oracle technology. MEAI will deploy Oracle Procurement, Oracle Financials, Oracle Order Management and Logistics among other modules as a part of this implementation.

With Oracle Applications, MEAI will now be able to:

* Streamline operations and enhance efficiency of its business processes

* Include Indian specific tax requirement in its financial accounting

* Close financial books within 6 days compared to the earlier 12 days

* Provide availability and sharing of data across the organization, and eliminate the mismatch in software, business process and practices
