Is front page advertising worth it?

A few weeks ago on Storyboard, we had pointed out the typos and formatting errors in a front page ad issued by beauty care brand Ponds. Now what was even more surprising was that it was only after we pointed out the errors, did people actually even notice the ad! Which led us to wonder - that a front page ad is prime real estate in a newspaper, it comes at a premium and is supposed to give you guaranteed 100% visibility. But is it effective anymore and how much should marketers & media planners view it? Pavni Mittal sets up a debate.
