Cannes Lions update: Big wins for India
Indian agencies won 23 metals at Cannes, including 6 golds.

Indian agencies won 23 metals at Cannes, including 6 golds. McCann and Taproot won two gold Lions each, with both of McCann's wins coming in the Press category. Taproot won one gold in both Press and Design. Ogilvy & Mather won a gold Lion in the Design and Grey Worldwide earned a gold Press Lion.
With these wins, the total number of metals won by Indian agencies reached 32. The highest number of metals won by India previously is 25 in 2009.
As of now, with shortlists for Film and Filmcraft categories yet to be announced, this is what the Cannes leaderboard for Indian agencies looks like.
So as of now, it seems to be a two-horse race for the bragging rights for the Indian agency of this year's Cannes Awards between Ogilvy (73 points) and Taproot (58 points).
