David Moyes sacking: Quarterly earnings pressure killing sports too

I am no expert in Football, though an avide follower of MU 's fortunes. AFP[/caption]Where consistency and fight was their forte earlier, consistency in a negative sense got to be associated with them this season. But in all fairness, David Moyes should have been given a longer rein atleast one more season.He might have made mistakes, in geting Fellaini and not acting in time to get good strikers but it is also a fact that Van Persie was not as effective as he was last season, in fact nowhere near that and to he was not available for more than half the season. May be a victory against Bayern or Everton could have saved his job.Moyes had done well with Everton.In MU he was also caught in a period of transition, ageing players like Ferdinand etc Let us hope they take a slightly longer term call on the new manager. Let them not forget that even the great Sir Alex took a few seasons before he could make a mark.
