Playing dead doesn't work in a bear attack. Neither does panicking and running away when you encounter one.[caption id="attachment_2249854" align="alignleft" width="380"]Reuters Reuters[/caption]These advises are casually thrown around on camping trips and and in conversations around water coolers. But if and when you really do encounter a bear, there's little you can recall and the first reaction is to jump and run.Turns out the bears are equally unaware of what protocol to follow when one bumps into a human being. This four second video shows an a unsuspecting man and a (equally unsuspecting) bear bumping into each other at a curve and freak out.The man carrying a glass of drink in his hand jumps and backs out hurriedly, but surprisingly (based on conventional wisdom), the bear is equally scared and does the same, almost in sync.
Although it remains a point to contemplate as to why the person shooting the video didn't give the man (or the bear) a shout-out.
