Turkey moves to counter Chinese electric vehicle imports

Turkey is intensifying its scrutiny of Chinese electric vehicle imports, following the lead of the European Union, which initiated its investigation into the subsidies provided by the Asian country to electric vehicles.As per a decree issued by the Trade Ministry last month, companies engaged in importing electric vehicles to Turkey are now required to maintain a minimum of 140 authorized service stations distributed evenly across the country and establish a dedicated call centre for each brand.Earlier this year, Turkey had imposed a 40% additional tariff on imports of motor vehicles with only electric motors from China, a presidential decision published in the country's Official Gazette showed.
