Nepal mayor's daughter, a follower of Osho meditation, missing in Goa

The 36-year-old daughter of the mayor of Nepal's Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city has gone missing in Goa, where she was residing for the past few months.

Aarti Hamal, a follower of Osho meditation, was last seen on Monday (March 25) around 9:30 pm in the vicinity of Ashvem Bridge in the Pernem taluka.

Aarti, who goes by the name Artusha Hamal Dhyan Leela on social media Facebook, had been associated with the Osho Meditation Centre for the past few months, reports in Nepalese newspapers said.

How did Nepal mayor learn about his daughter going missing?

Gopal Hamal, mayor of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city and Aarti's father, took to social media platform X seeking help in finding his elder daughter.

The mayor said Aarti's friend informed him about her missing, saying she had lost contact with Aarti Zorba Vibes Ashwem Breeze.

"My elder daughter, Aarti, is an Osho meditator who has been living in Goa for a few months. However, I have received a message from her friend stating that she has lost contact with Aarti Zorba Vibes Ashwem Breeze since yesterday (March 25). I humbly request that those who live in Goa assist in the search for my daughter, Aarti," Gopal Hamal's post on X read.

The mayor of Nepal's Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city further informed that his younger daughter Arzoo Hamal and son-in-law were flying to Goa to look for Aarti.

"I sincerely request that you contact 9794096014 / 8273538132 / 9389607953 to provide the necessary assistance in the search for my daughter," Gopal Hamal posted on X.

Aarti was last spotted at a bridge near Siolim

Aarti's younger sibling Arzoo Hamal in a post on Facebook said according to some callers, her sister was last spotted at a bridge near Siolim.

“We have received more than 500 calls since we left from Nepal to Lucknow. We are still getting calls even post 12:00 am. Some of the people have been very helpful and we are eternally grateful to them. According to some callers she was last spotted at a bridge near Siolim. Few of them believe that she was taken to a hospital from there in an ambulance as she was found unconscious while the others have been saying that she was taken to the police station.”

“Our well-wishers who have reached out and are trying to help have been looking in hospitals and police stations in and around that area. But nothing has really been clear so far," Arzoo added.

Search begins for Nepal mayor's missing daughter

Goa Police have registered a missing person's complaint. She has been reported missing since March 25. A search team has been constituted to find Aarti.

Search for Aarti intensified after sources said she could not be located in the early searches carried out across hospitals in the region.
