Indian student dies in Manchester street shooting

An Indian student has been shot dead in front of a McDonald's restaurant in Salford, Manchester. The police are currently calling it an 'unprovoked act' but are unsure whether it was racially motivated.  The 23-year-old student was reportedly holidaying with friends.[caption id="attachment_166213" align="alignleft" width="380" caption="The gunman, who was said to be wearing a grey top, was described as white, in his mid-20s, and of slim build. AFP"][/caption]The BBC reports the student has been identified as Anuj Bidve, was approached by two men, and after a short conversation was shot to death. The engineering student had been studying microelectronics in Lancaster. His parents in Pune, have reportedly been informed.The gunman, who was said to be wearing a grey top, was described as white, in his mid-20s, and of slim build. His accomplice, who wore a black jacket, was described as of heavier build. The police have appealed to the public to come forward if they have more information.
