The Israeli military has started using the new map published by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) yesterday which has divided the Gaza Strip into different zones to help Palestinians avoid active combat zones."Residents of the Gaza Strip, the IDF has resumed forceful action against Hamas and other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip," IDF's Arabic-language spokesperson Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee said on X, formerly Twitter.He added, "For your safety, we call on you to evacuate your homes immediately through the Haifa and Khalil al-Wazir axes and go to the known shelter centers and schools in the Al-Daraj and Tuffah neighborhoods and west of Gaza City."

Palestinian residents said houses and open areas had been hit and three mosques destroyed in Khan Younis in the past hours. Columns of smoke were rising into the sky, Reuters journalists in the city said.

The Israeli military said that in the last 24 hours, combined attacks by its ground, air and naval forces had hit 400 militant targets and killed an unspecified number of Hamas fighters.

Hamas media said about 200 Palestinians had been killed since the end of the truce - adding to the more than 15,000 dead in Gaza since the start of the war, according to health authorities in the enclave.
