A look at the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3

It is easily the world’s thinnest tablet, almost 18 per cent thinner than the original iPad Air.[/caption][caption id="attachment_238194" align="aligncenter" width="1280"] The iPad Air 2 is powered by the Apple A8X system on chip which has a 64-bit architecture and comes with a dedicated M8 motion processor. Apple claims a 12x CPU performance jump and a whopping 180x GPU performance jump from the original iPad.[/caption][caption id="attachment_238195" align="aligncenter" width="1002"] The other major addition is the presence of an 8MP iSight camera, which brings in all the goodies such as time-lapse mode, live HDR, 120fps slo-mo mode, burst mode, panorama and so on.[/caption][caption id="attachment_238188" align="aligncenter" width="1002"] The Apple iPad mini 3 did not get as much air time as the iPad Air 2. But it gives a generational upgrade over the iPad mini with Retina Display.[/caption][caption id="attachment_238193" align="aligncenter" width="1002"] The major update with the mini 3 is also the addition of the TouchID which improves security.[/caption][caption id="attachment_238196" align="aligncenter" width="1002"] The iPad mini 3 is powered by the Apple A7 SoC and just like the iPad Air 2, will run on iOS 8.1. It also gets the 5MP iSight camera like the iPad mini 2.[/caption][caption id="attachment_238192" align="aligncenter" width="1002"] Thanks to the new launches, the older iPads have got a price drop. You can now get the iPad mini 2 or the iPad mini with Retina display starts from Rs 21,900 (16GB) whereas the iPad Mini will be available from Rs 17,900 (16GB) onwards.[/caption]
