Tumblr users, rejoice. Yahoo! has asserted that it is not bothered about its newly acquired blogging portal’s porn content.
CEO Marissa Mayer reassured Tumblr users that Yahoo! had no plans on cutting down or restricting pornographic content on the blogging site. “It's the nature of user-generated content,” Mayer said in response to a question raised during the press event at New York City.

In the press event as well as her blog post regarding Yahoo!’s acquisition of Tumblr, Mayer has stressed on the point that the Silicon Valley company intends to “let Tumblr be Tumblr,” even though the site is not “as brand safe as the rest of Yahoo!.” She went on to say that Tumblr’s variety of content was exciting because it allowed Yahoo! to reach a far wider audience.
However, Mayer stressed on the need to label posts and blogs with the Not Safe For Work (NSFW) tags. "It's really important to have great community tools like 'NSFW' that Tumblr already has in place," she said.
Even as rumours about Yahoo!’s purchase of Tumblr had started to swirl, it had led to questions about the porn content hosted by the site. While Yahoo! clearly warns in its terms of services that users might come across adult content, Tumblr was speculated to pose a bigger problem with the excessive porn trove it holds.
