Yahoo! Adds Local News Clips For US Users

Yahoo! will now offer local news content in video clips, from CBS Corp

Yahoo! will now offer local news content in video clips, from CBS Corp’s news network across United States. Yahoo! users will have access to about 20 daily news clips from each of the 16 CBS TV stations, from Tuesday. In return, Yahoo! will share an undisclosed portion of the advertising revenue generated by the videos with CBS Corp.

CBS will offer local news content from regions such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Miami, Denver, Sacramento, California, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Salt Lake City, Austin, Texas, and Green Bay and Wisconsin. The local news content is being added to Yahoo’s national and international news section from CBS's ‘60 Minutes’ as well as Walt Disney Co.'s ABC and Time Warner Inc.'s CNN.

Company spokesman Brian Nelson said that Yahoo! Inc intends to seek similar news video agreements with other TV stations in markets that aren't covered by the CBS agreement, soon.
