Xolo's quad-core Play T1000 priced at Rs 15,999

Following up to the leaked screenshots that revealed Xolo’s next smartphone, the official specifications of the Xolo Play T1000 are now out. Priced at Rs 15,999, the dual-SIM smartphone features a 4.7-inch IPS HD capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, giving it a pixel density of 293 ppi.

Internally, the T1000 has a Tegra 3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. As with most other smartphones in the market, the memory of the phone can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD slot.

The phone supports Bluetooth v3 as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The phone comes with HSDPA, which will give speeds up to 21 Mbps, according to the official specifications. The T1000 also features A-GPS with support for Google Maps.

The phone takes care of the user’s audio needs with a 3.5 mm audio jack and also features a microUSB port. Like most other Android smartphones in the market, the T1000 can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot as well. In terms of multimedia, the phone has a music and video player which supports most formats and comes with TX/RX Noise Cancellation Support.

From the specifications alone, the T1000 seems to be a good addition to the smartphone category. The slightly dated Android operating system could be a problem, but the price tag may go a long way in addressing that.
