Xiaomi to make an 'exciting announcement' today
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has just sent out a tweet on its India Twitter account hinting at 'an exciting announcement' that is scheduled for tomorrow. What that is, Mi India hasn't revealed.Users are speculating everything from a Mi Router to Redmi 3 to Mi5i to Mi Band 1s to even Mi TV. Mi India is using the hashtag #MiGeneration to respond to most user tweets.Just yesterday, Xiaomi had announced the Redmi 3 for RMB 699 (approx Rs 7000). On the specifications front, the smartphone features a 5-inch display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, paired with 2GB RAM. It sports an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Xiaomi Redmi 3 runs on an unspecified Android version with MIUI 7.One of the major highlights of the smartphone is its 4100mAh non removable battery. With a battery density of 685Wh/L, which extends the talk time of its predecessor by reportedly 80 percent, the Redmi 3 comes with support for 5V/2A fast charging as well.
