The Xiaomi Mi 5C has made a couple of appearances in the past and once again it is making news. According to the latest report, the smartphone was listed on online mall Jingdong (JD.com) with a price tag of 9,999 Yuan (around Rs 1,00,000) . This is likely to be an error as previously it was leaked at 999 Yuan (around Rs 10,000) and even 1499 Yuan (around Rs 15,000).Codenamed as Xiaomi Meri, the Mi 5C smartphone has been leaked on many occasions so there have been some contradictory info. According to one source, it is expected to come with narrow bezels around the display with a sleek design. It could also be powered by Xiaomi’s own Pinecone processor. However, another leak suggests that it will run on a MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor.
Other likely specs include two screen variants, a 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch display with 2.5D curved glass, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 12MP rear camera and 8MP front-facing selfie shooter. The device will run on MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow.
The launch date was rumoured to be 6 December and we didn't see any announcement. So it is safe to assume that Xiaomi will launch the device at CES 2017, which is just a few weeks from now.
