Xiaomi launches Redmi 2: Snapdragon 410, 4.7-inch HD display, LTE support

Xiaomi launched their latest device Xiaomi Redmi 2, the successor to the Redmi 1S in China. The smartphone will go on sale on 9 January and will be priced approximately Rs 7,100.In terms of specifications, the Redmi 2 has a 4.7 inch HD IPS display at 1280 x 720 resolution along with a 312ppi.The phone runs on a 64-bit 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. It also includes 8GB internal storage which can be further expanded to 32GB via microSD card.The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Xiaomi's own MIUI 6 skin over Android 4.4 KitKat. It features a 8MP rear camera along with 2MP front-facing camera. It is backed by a 2200mAh battery.In terms of connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS besides 4G LTE (TDD/FDD) network support. It is available in five colours namely yellow, pink, green, white and nlack.There is no information as to when the smartphone will release in other countries.It's predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S features a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS display, Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 8GB of internal storage and Android 4.3 with MIUI v5. The phone is packed with 2000 mAH battery. It also includes dual-SIM support and 3G connectivity. Xiaomi Redmi 1S is priced at Rs 5,999.
