At the ongoing X06 press event in Barcelona, Microsoft dropped the bomb on a number of unsuspecting people by announcing a brand new Real Time Strategy game set in the Halo universe, titled Halo Wars. The game will apparently take place before Halo 1 and will be developed by Ensemble Studios, the same people who gave us Age of Empires.

Even though Ensemble Studios are used to more PC oriented games, they claim that they're building the game strictly for the Xbox 360 and they promise that it'll control just fine on consoles. "We were able to take all the best aspects of RTS games, make them work perfectly on the Xbox 360, and exclude the rest", says an excerpt from the game's official site .

Bad news for PC gamers though; this game is a 360 exclusive only, as of now that is.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
