Microsoft has finally released the first Service Pack for Windows 7, SP1. It brings a host of security upgrades to make your system much safer. Windows 7 SP1 has been out for a week now for MSDN and the Technet, but now it is now available for everyone using Windows 7 via the Microsoft website and Windows Update.Back from Servicing

The general consensus from people who’ve used the Betas and the Release Candidate is that the SP1 doesn’t really do much for the Operating System apart from the security enhancements. So it’s not nearly as big an update as Windows XP SP2 was, or even Vista SP1 for that matter.

That maybe evidence on how good Windows 7’s retail release itself was. Even after SP1, it’s still the Windows 7 you've used for a while, which is not really a bad thing to be honest.
