WhatsApp brings Facebook's colourful backgrounds to its status section

After Facebook, Whatsapp will give its users a similar profile experience, where the user will be able to add texts to a colourful background.[caption id="attachment_605513" align="alignleft" width="380"] A screengrab of Whatsapp app.[/caption]The messaging service which started as a messaging only platform, seems to pushing towards a social media platform, which seemed distorted when it introduced the status update feature.Though at a testing stage, the feature was first spotted by Android Police. This new feature can be worked around by opening the status section where along with the camera option, a pencil will also appear. On pressing the option, a coloured screen prompting to type a text. It has three options, one to open the emojis, second to type text and change font, and lastly to change background colour. Rest of the functions of the feature remains the same.Since it is still in testing phase many may have not received the update. WhatsApp is apparently testing the feature on a limited set of users.This WhatsApp feature seems to be an unnecessary attempt by WhatsApp since not many even use their status option leave alone adding a coloured background to it.
