Nokia is going all out to ensure that its newest Lumia 1020 gets all the attention it expects. Along with the phone, Nokia has announced the arrival of much-awaited apps like Vine, Path and Flipboard on the Windows Phone 8 platform.

It had been announced by Oggl creator Hipstamatic back in May that its Windows Phone 8 app will come to Nokia’s newest release and this has been confirmed by Nokia in a press statement. Announced during the Lumia 925 event, Hipstamatic will be coming to Nokia’s Lumia 1020 as well. The bump on the back is quite prominent

Not exactly a substitute for the much-awaited Instagram, Oggl will let users add filters and make edits before being able to post to their social networking accounts like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Nokia has also announced that Vine will be coming to Windows Phone 8 soon. Clearly, as far as video is concerned, Vine is winning the race on Microsoft’s platform. While WP users still request and plead with Facebook to release Instagram, Twitter has slyly moved in for the kill with this app announcement.

It isn’t certain whether Twitter will be building this app by itself yet but word is that the app will be hitting the Windows Phone 8 app store later this year.

Flipboard is going to be available on Windows Phone 8 devices soon as well. Again, not much has been revealed about the app’s building or its release date. There is no saying how different or similar the Flipboard app will be to its iOS and Android counterparts, but one can imagine the use of Live Tiles being absolutely appropriate for building it.

Path too has confirmed that it will indeed be introducing an app for the OS. Announcing that Windows Phone 8 had been a platform most requested by its users across the world, Path said it is building the app in collaboration with Nokia. “We’ve worked closely with the team at Nokia to build Path for Windows Phone, with a special focus on the new Nokia Lumia 1020 device,” the team wrote in its blog. The company has announced that it will be using the new Nokia SDK to be able to take advantage of Lumia 1020’s camera features.
