Viddy Does for Video What Instagram Does for Photo

Adds effects and shares, in a nutshell.

If you like what Instagram does for photos and you're not quite happy with Socialcam, there's another mobile video sharing app that's out. Aptly titled Viddy, the app allows you to capture video from your phone, or choose one from your library, add an effect, vintage or 3D to it and share it on an interface very much like Instagram's. In fact, the layout of this app is basically the same as Instagram's, with the bottom bar containing the same controls in the same order (Feed, Share, News, Activity, Profile etc).

Make sure you create your account on Viddy before actually using it. This step was found out the hard way, where I lost the video I was working on because the app prompted me to make an account. Basically upload a video you've already shot, or start shooting in app, you can then edit your video, cutting it for precision and then add a filter to it, or as Viddy calls them, "production packages". There are six production packages in addition to normal. You can adjust how intense you want the effect to be and once the video renders you can preview before you hit Share to both Viddy and the other social networks (Twitter, Facebook etc.). You can add a title, tags and location before you share.

Viddy is available for free from the iOS App Store. Although they're an iPhone only app right now, they do have plans for expanding to the other big platforms.
