VIA Releases CN800 Chipset

VIA releases new chipset CN800 for its CN800 processor range.

Dailytech has reported that VIA has announced a new chipset the CN800, for its range of C7-D processors. The new chipset, has inbuilt support for integrated graphics, DDR2 memory and PCIe expansion capability. Via has also equipped it with a Unichrome Pro integrated graphics core.

The new core uses the Chromaton CE video engine, and is capable of hardware Mpeg-2 decoding. The new chip also has multi-monitor support, and can be used in conjunction, with VIA’s VT8237R for SATA RAID, hi-def audio and Gigabit Ethernet.
